Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers a thrilling adventure as you hike through dense, misty forests to encounter one of the 36 mountain gorilla groups. The trek typically lasts 2 to 4 hours, depending on the park sector you choose—Rushaga, Ruhija, Nkuringo, or Buhoma—each providing a unique experience with stunning views and wildlife sightings. Once you find the beautiful giants, you can spend one hour with them. Please note that participants must be at least 15 years old, trekking is limited to groups of up to 8 people per day, and proper hiking shoes are required. Also, since gorilla trekking is an extremely popular activity, which requires both a guide and a permit, we would recommend planning and booking this unique experience well in advance.
